Roles and Responsibilities of CEO

  1. Creating and implementing organisation’s the long term and short term vision and direction. 
  2. Leading Guiding and Evaluating Executive leadership for growing the company. Oversees design, marketing, promotion, delivery and quality of programs, products and services.
  3. Supports operations and administration of Board by advising and informing Board members, interfacing between Board and staff, and supporting Board’s evaluation of chief executive.
  4. Assures the organization and its mission, programs, products and services are consistently presented in strong, positive image to relevant stakeholders. Interfaces between organization and community, including government.
  5. Recommends yearly budget for Board approval and prudently manages organization’s resources within those budget guidelines according to current laws and regulations
  6. Effectively manages the human resources of the organization according to authorized personnel policies and procedures to ensure the Company is appropriately organized and staffed and to have the authority to hire and terminate staff as necessary to achieve plans.
  7. Oversees fundraising planning and implementation, including identifying resource requirements, researching funding sources, establishing strategies to approach funders, submitting proposals and administrating fundraising records and documentation.
  8. Maintaining awareness of the competitive market landscape, expansion opportunities, industry developments
  9. Ensuring that the company maintains high social responsibility wherever it does business
  10. Assessing risks to the company and ensuring they are monitored and minimized
  11. Setting strategic goals and making sure they are measurable and describable
  12. Participating in industry-related events or associations that will enhance the CEO’s leadership skills, the organization’s reputation, and the organization’s potential for success.  
  13. Creating a learning organization that will continue to grow and flourish and enhancing the skills and abilities of employees. 

Qualifications /Requirements

  • Proven experience as CEO or in other managerial position
  • Experience in developing profitable strategies and implementing vision
  • Strong understanding of corporate finance and performance management principles
  • Familiarity with diverse business functions such as marketing, PR, finance etc.
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate governance and general management best practices
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with outstanding organizational and leadership skills
  • Analytical abilities and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and public speaking skills
  • MSc/MA in business administration or relevant field
